Frequently Asked Questions About My Molecatching Service

How do I know I have moles in my lawn or flower beds or landscaping?

Mole activity is typically evident by molehills or ground veining and frequently includes both signs. You may feel the mole tunnels beneath your feet if the ground is soft. The ground will give way where mole tunnels are present.

How many moles do I have in my Garden?
Small to medium gardens typically consist of one or two moles. If you are neighbouring farmland or woodland it maybe more. Small holding and other large areas may have multiple moles.

How long will it take to complete the Mole removal from my Garden?
Mole mosts are caught within 2-3 days. It can take up to a week in some cases.

If left alone, how much damage can moles cause?
Moles can cause a tremendous amount of damage to your landscaping. Moles must eat more than 60% of their body weight per day.  That means they are in a continual feeding frenzy, digging and tunneling everywhere to find food. Moles can dig more than 15 feet/hour.

Do I need to be home when your service my property
No. As long as I can assess the location of the mole hills then you don’t need to be home.

Will the moles return to my Garden?
The moles I catch will be dead so they certainly won’t return. But any moles living nearby may sense that the territory is available and move in. This may take a few days, weeks or even years. A lot depends on if you are neighbouring farm land/woodland, if you are not then it’s unlikey a mole will be seen again quickly. Once the mole has been removed, you have a 7 day warrenty, where if any new mole activity is discovered I will return for free and lay the traps again.

Is your equipment safe around Pets and Children?
Yes! I take special precautions to make sure my equipment is environmentally friendly and safe. I DO NOT use poisons or pesticides of any type. This means no harmful exposure to pets and children, no leaching into ground water and contamination of water ways. The mole traps are placed in the ground and protect it with hard plastic covers.  Most dogs just sniff the covers, then ignore them. Cats are pretty much indifferent to them.  Children should be instructed to avoid the equipment – ‘it’s not a new play-thing’. If you have children under 6 years old that will be playing in the area unattended or you have a pet that likes to dig, let us know and we will take extra precautions.

If you don't catch a mole what do you do?
In the rare event that no mole is caught, you will not incur any charge. The mole is likely to return at some point and when it does I can return and try again. You are safe in the knowledge that my servive is NO MOLE NO FEE.
